So I just got off the phone with vital check and the lady said if you start an application you will be charged a processing fee automatically, even if you did not complete the order. They should put that note up on the website before continued so we know what will be happening. ANNOYING!!!!! Their number is 1(800)669-8310

As people have already stated, this is a vital records search fee. I personally was looking for my marriage certificate, and got everything in order, entered my payment information, but never clicked buy, because I couldn't confirm whether my wife's actual maiden name was on the certificate or if she had used her surname from her previous marriage. A couple of weeks later this charge showed up in my bank account. It appears they do indeed charge you even if you never clicked the final authorization.

This company just charged me $10.50! I didn't purchase anything and don't know who this is.

So my son was attempting to order a copy of his birth certificate. However, the transaction was canceled due to the company being unable to verify my son’s identity, yet my card was charged $8.75 because we accessed the records. Sounds like BS to me. I guess the company is hard up for 8 bucks..
