Just to clarify, there's a difference between a "pending" or "authorization" transaction and an actual charge. This form of verification is common and if you look closely, you'll all probably see that these transactions never actually turn into actual charges. So there's no $1 "tacked on", no money taken out of your account, and there's no dollar to "get back".

Just watch your account and only worry if any of these transactions actually convert to charges (which they most likely will not ever do).

This turned out to be the College Bookstore at FL Polytechnic when I paid for some kind of Lab or Online Access Fee for my kid. It was only available thru their Bookstore and required for one of his classes

I received a fraud alert notice from my bank @ 941PM that this transaction was declined for the use of the wrong expiration date. I canceled that credit card immediately.

Any lawyer out there to catch a scammer Follett, I would like to see what they do for University of West Florida. It is not just getting your dollar back but stopping this fraud.....Prove to me where this money is going to???????

Never heard of these people yet they took $91.25 out of my account. It was unauthorized, I have contacted my bank for fraud investigation and am considering contacting my lawyer

Pretty sure I did not order books at 6am on christmas day. Fraud investigation is under way.
