What is it?

A charge of 97.98 appeared on my bank statement attributed to CHEWY.COM 800-6724399 FL. Totally fraudulent. Being reported to my bank. Since another fraudulent charge appeared the following day, I am also cancelling my bank card.

I phoned my credit card company when I noticed two unauthorized charges from chewy.com. (I was unfamiliar with the company and had not purchased from them.) When I told the customer service person the reason for my call, it was SHE who asked if the charges in question were the ones from chewy.com. Clearly, she had encountered complaints about Chewy charges before. She went on to find two additional charges from Chewy that had been made subsequent to the closing date of my credit card statement: in total, four separate unauthorized charges in one month. Something fishy is going on with Chewy! I've cancelled my credit card.

I had posted a previous comment about a charge for $25.64 from Chewy.com. It wasn't a charge at all! It was a refund! I'm just a damn idiot!!!

An order was placed to Chewy.com which totaled $198.98, however two separate charges of $167.28 and $199.10 were deducted from checking account. I complained two days ago when I saw the pending charges and again this morning pushing the call to the Manager level. I have been assured that checking account will receive the proper credit. Have a follow up phone call that I asked for set up for this Wed., 12-01-21. Clearly, this is not a mistake, but is a known business practice. Will give the company a chance to correct the error and will now go back to check previous orders. I have not yet reported this company to my State’s Attorney General Fraud Division. At this time will compile more records and notes. This needs to be shared with all consumers!

Had an unauthorized purchase for about 126.00 try to come through on a card my job pays me on which I never use except to pull money out once every two weeks. I have no account with Chewy and have no pets. So how does my card number of a card I rarely use end up on Pet site I never use or have an account for. Watch your accounts everyone!!. Luckily the transaction was declined to insufficient funds. So I locked and ordered a new card from bank. I dont think Chewy is the sole blame here.

I had a charge from chewy.com of $6.45 that was immediately declined by my bank. I locked my card for a few days and didn't hear anything else until today when the same charge appeared. I called and got that card cancelled, but my other card -previously unused past two in person transactions- was also charged just a few minutes ago. I'll call tomorrow to get that one cancelled but for now it's locked and I will be changing all my passwords going forward in case they found it when I switched over some of my accounts

I was charge for a purchased I did not make for just under $160.00 by CHEWY.COM. I check my card activity daily and pay several times a week. The transaction was reversed the next day. Does anyone know how they get the card information? I only use this card for business transactions like fuel, office supplies but I did use it for lodging recently.

Has anyone contacted Chewy 1-800-672-4399 in Florida?

Someone is using my chewy account to place an order. They use another persons credit card information and send to a different address. Once I get email confirmation in the middle of the night they then flood my email with spam. This has happened 3 times but I have been able to catch and cancel the last 2 orders. The charge is for around $60 and chewy should do a better job catching this. I don’t even use my account because my husband orders our stuff. I will be calling them again soon to report this incident and hope they can finally do something about it so it doesn’t happen again.

Charge of $25.64 made to my card from Chewy.com - did not match up with any order from my account. Either Chewy had an information leak, or they have an employee who is using other peoples' cards. My bet is on the latter.

I see the last post on this was this month, but this apparently started years ago. Someone said above Chewy.com is safe, just be careful. Actually, no. The site itself may be set up properly, but clearly Chewy has done nothing to internally terminate these fraudulent charges if they’re continuing to do this. So, it is not safe at all. I was alerted 2 days ago of a fraudulent charge to my card, and requested my card by turned off immediately. Between then and earlier today, TWENTY-SEVEN fraudulent transactions from Chewy are showing “pending,” not completed, totally over $1,400 - in one and a half days. Working on it all. I had an account with them a long time ago and it was using a different card that’s no longer active, so how did they get this card’s information? Who there is charge of this? I won’t be shopping there again. Consumers should always take proper precautions, but posting here solely because from what I’ve seen here (and in a basic search), it seems Chewy hasn’t done anything, so consumers should know at least this much about them.

Chewy.com put an unauthorized charge on my account shortly after charging me fully for an order. I called and asked why and they said "one item you ordered comes from another warehouse, they make a separate charge and then we refund it". I told them that was unacceptable - I didn't care what their logistics were behind the scenes. They said it would be refunded within 24-48.

So I wake up this morning, and there's another charge! I call and they say "same thing as the last one - it's just a hold". I told them that I appreciated the info, and to please close my account and refund my money immediately. They said they're calling me back at 3:30.

I want to say that the customer service was great. The reps answered the phone immediately and were polite. But I'm no man of means - I can't have additional charges on my card even if they are for 24-48 hours - especially charges I didn't authorized. Very upset with chewy and will not do business with them again.

May be time for a Chewy class-action for inadequate consumer protection.

Chewy.com is a SAFE SITE! Just be careful. I just ordered from them the other day, and my credit card has no extra fees. I always get notifications when somebody takes out of my account. Again, chewy.com is Safe

Can you help? What is this charge?
